When Connor reached out to me on Instagram about planning a surprise proposal for his girlfriend Kennison, I had no idea just how special this day would turn out to be. Not only did he plan every single detail with so much thought and intention, but he chose to propose in front of Crane Cottage on Jekyll Island, Georgia — the very same place where Kennison’s parents got married. Cue the tears!! This romantic Jekyll Island proposal was filled with meaning, family history, and the kind of joy that only comes from two people who are completely sure of forever.


Connor truly thought of everything. He scrolled through Kennison’s Instagram to find photographers she already followed — hint: that’s how he found me! — and worked with her family and roommates to pull off the biggest surprise of her life. Her parents, grandparents, and best friends were all in on the plan, secretly coordinating every detail from the background. And let me just say, her roommates came prepared — backup dresses, coordinating bras (because girls, we get it!), and hearts ready to celebrate their sweet friend. After the proposal, everyone gathered for a surprise engagement party that overflowed with laughter, hugs, and happy tears.

TFor the setup, I wanted to make sure the space felt as meaningful and romantic as the story itself. I stopped by the flower market and created a special arrangement using Kennison’s favorite color — blue — and her favorite flowers. White rose petals lined the walkway, surrounded by glowing vanilla-scented tea lights in small glass votives, forming the most beautiful aisle for Connor to propose. And, of course, a chilled bottle of champagne was waiting nearby to celebrate the moment she said yes! The soft fall breeze, the golden Jekyll Island light, and the historic charm of Crane Cottage made it an absolute dream to photograph.

The love story


Kennison and Connor have been together for nine months, but their connection feels timeless. They both love the Lord, enjoy going to church together, and spend their weekends hunting and fishing — a perfect mix of faith, fun, and adventure. Watching Connor drop to one knee in front of the very place her parents said “I do” felt like watching the next chapter of a legacy unfold. This Georgia engagement session was one for the books — emotional, intentional, and full of love that clearly points back to what matters most.

I still can’t get over how honored I am to have been part of this moment. Being trusted to capture such an intentional and joy-filled Jekyll Island proposal truly means the world to me. Every detail — from the florals to the family hugs — reminded me why I love what I do. Watching Kennison’s face light up as she realized what was happening was the sweetest gift. I feel so blessed to have witnessed the start of their forever, and I’m beyond excited to see where their story leads next. Congratulations again, Kennison and Connor — what an unforgettable day!
