These details are so dreamy!!
A micro wedding full of heart
Weddings are always emotional for me—but when you’re photographing two people you love, it’s on a whole different level. Sarah and Dylan’s micro wedding on St. Simons Island was simple, beautiful, and bursting at the seams with heart. Just the two of them, a few close loved ones, and a backdrop of mossy oaks and salty breeze—it felt like a quiet dream.
And can we talk about the details for a second? Dreamy doesn’t even cover it. From the florals to the soft color palette, every touch felt thoughtful and personal—but the real showstopper? They turned their engagement photos into coloring pages for guests. I’m still not over it. Literal pages of line art drawn from our past session—laid out with crayons so everyone could color their love story while witnessing it unfold. I 100% snagged some to bring home to my kids. Sarah wins Best DIY Wedding Detail forever and ever, amen.
SEE! How CUTE!?!

Their love story?
One for the books. Sarah told me early on, “We’re total opposites,” and honestly, that’s what makes them so perfect together. She’s bold, outgoing, and always tells it like it is. Dylan is soft-spoken, introverted, and steady. One of my favorite stories she shared is about when he first told her he loved her—and she didn’t hear him. (In her defense, she does have bad hearing.) So instead of responding like a normal human, she whipped her head around and said, “WHAT did you just say to me?!” Dylan—being Dylan—immediately changed the subject and didn’t try again for months. MONTHS. The poor man loved her, said it out loud, and got unintentionally grilled for it. Romantic comedy-level stuff, right?
But that’s what makes their love so special. It’s real, it’s patient, and it’s full of laughter. They actually went on their first date in high school—though according to Sarah, it was not great—and then reconnected almost a decade later. Since then, they’ve built a quiet, meaningful life together that’s centered around the simple things: reading side by side, beach days, little trips, and lots of love.
Watching them say “I do” by the pier, with the ocean behind them and the oaks standing witness, was nothing short of magical. It was intimate, genuine, and completely them.
Sarah & Dylan, thank you for letting me capture this piece of your story. I’m so honored to call you friends—and so happy to see your forever begin right here on the Golden Isles.
