Jekyll Island, Georgia
Why i love driftwood beach
an unbiased opinion!

There’s a stretch of sand on Jekyll Island where time seems to slow, and stories feel like they hang in the air, carried by salt and sea breeze. Driftwood Beach isn’t just beautiful—it’s breathtaking, in a quiet, haunting kind of way. The twisted trees, scattered like driftwood sculptures along the shoreline, create a scene that’s both surreal and soulful. As a photographer, it’s a location that never stops inspiring me. Every time I’m there, I feel like I’m stepping into something sacred.
I fell in love with Driftwood Beach not just because of the way it looks, but because of the way it feels. There’s a softness to the wind, a hush that seems to calm even the busiest minds. It invites couples and families to relax, breathe, and connect. I’ve photographed love stories, maternity sessions, barefoot babies, and proud parents here—each one framed by these timeless trees and kissed by the golden coastal light. No matter how many times I return, Driftwood always gives me something new.
One of my favorite memories was photographing the Curtis family, who traveled all the way from Ohio for their session. As soon as they stepped onto the sand, they paused, looked around, and said, “Wow, it’s so magical here—it’s like a scene from a Nicholas Sparks novel.” And they weren’t wrong. The whole evening felt like a chapter from a storybook—especially when we passed by the Wishing Tree, a little local gem where kids (and let’s be honest, grown-ups too) hang white seashells with holes in them and make a wish. Watching their little girl hang her first shell with wide eyes and a big grin was a moment I’ll never forget.

Driftwood Beach holds a kind of wild romance and Southern magic that keeps calling me back. Whether it's an engagement shoot or a playful family stroll along the water, this place captures emotion like no other. It's unpredictable and unpolished, but that’s what makes it perfect. I’m so grateful to be able to create legacy here—for my clients, and for myself.
